Kripke completeness revisited
نویسنده
چکیده
The evolution of completeness proofs for modal logic with respect to the possible world semantics is studied starting from an analysis of Kripke’s original proofs from 1959 and 1963. The critical reviews by Bayart and Kaplan and the emergence of Henkin-style completeness proofs are detailed. It is shown how the use of a labelled sequent system permits a direct and uniform completeness proof for a wide variety of modal logics that is close to Kripke’s original arguments but without the drawbacks of Kripke’s or Henkin-style completeness proofs.

Denotational Completeness Revisited
We deene a notion of Kripke logical predicate for models of classical linear logic. A Kripke logical predicate on a type A will be a set of generalised elements of A satisfying certain closure properties. Denotations of proofs of A will be characterised as those global elements of A satisfying all Kripke logical predicates on A.
متن کاملOn Notions of Completeness Weaker than Kripke Completeness
We are going to show that the standard notion of Kripke completeness is the strongest one among many provably distinct algebraically motivated completeness properties, some of which seem to be of intrinsic interest. More specifically, we are going to investigate notions of completeness with respect to algebras which are either atomic, complete, completely additive or admit residuals (the last n...
متن کاملNormalisation by Completeness with Heyting Algebras
Usual normalization by evaluation techniques have a strong relationship with completeness with respect to Kripke structures. But Kripke structures is not the only semantics that ts intuitionistic logic: Heyting algebras are a more algebraic alternative. In this paper, we focus on this less investigated area: how completeness with respect to Heyting algebras generate a normalization algorithm fo...
متن کاملA new perspective on the arithmetical completeness of GL ∗
Solovay’s proof of the arithmetical completeness of the provability logic GL proceeds by simulating a finite Kripke model inside the theory of Peano Arithmetic (PA). In this article, a new perspective on the proof of GL’s arithmetical completeness will be given. Instead of simulating a Kripke structure inside the theory of PA, it will be embedded into an arithmetically defined Kripke structure....
